The village of ŠENTJANE
stands on the side of a hill above Portorož among the northernmost salt fields
of the Mediterranean – the Sečovlje and Strunjan salt works. Along the upper
and lower Šentjane road there are terraced olive plantations, fields and vineyards,
as well as acacia, cinnamon and blackberry plantations.
Countless generations of
farmers, salt harvesters and millers have for centuries been very careful in
approaching the natural environment. As grateful heirs (descendants and
newcomers), we wish to maintain and upgrade their work. Therefore, we cultivate
soil in an environment-friendly manner, while preserving the cultural landscape
as a green hinterland to the coastal tourism.
We often enjoy our products
and produce at a shared table, because love for food unites us. While
respecting tradition of Slovenian
